Tasty Snack

I was flipping through a Friend Magazine the other day and I came across this recipe. It sounded yummy so we tried it today. Not bad. It has fruit (apple), protein (peanut butter) and just enough sweetness (honey) to take care of my afternoon sugar craving! The filling was yummy enough to disguise the taste of my wheat free bread which is always a plus! Addie even seemed to like it.

Be Mine...

Daniel and I went out last night while our friends watched Addie and so we watched their little boy so they could go out tonight. I love these 2 together. For the most part, the play pretty well. There is the occasional fighting over a toy or pushing but I think they enjoy each other's company. The pictures are from a few weeks ago but the video is them playing tonight.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Daniel and I actually went out on our Valentine's Day date last night. We decided to go cheap and not get too expensive. We went to the $2 movie theater and watched Australia. After that we came home and made dinner. Daniel made spaghetti and sauce with meat and I made a Hidden Greens salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing. (We finally made something from the book you bought him mom!) He bought some sparkling cider to go with it. It turned out yummy, just as good as a restaurant would have been! After that we decided to support a local small business and got some dessert at a place called "Vintage" right by our house. White chocolate raspberry cheesecake and chocolate lave cake.

Today we gave Addie her Valentine's day gift. My mom always used to give us something small on Valentine's Day so I wanted to carry that on with Addie. The stuffed dog is not so small but I thought he was kinda of cute. She liked him until she saw the candy then that was all she wanted. I made her Valentine heart with felt. The white ones come off so she can play with them then put them back on. She was putting her candy hearts on there too before she shoved them all in her mouth!

I love her kisses!! After the candy she was all goofy!

Addie and I made this card for Daniel. I painted her finger to make a bunch of "bug" prints. On the inside I wrote "Happy Valentine's Day from your little love bug". The blue one is from me. I saw the idea on Martha Stewart or one of those shows and thought it was cute!

This was taken a little later when we were getting ready to go for a walk. She is starting to pick out things that she wants to wear. She has to pick her jacket and will only wear the one she picks. Today she insisted on the hat (even though it was not that cold) and the back pack. My little miss independent...

Why pet adoption agencies don't allow homes with young kids to have young kittens...

She really does love him...

...until the end of the video. :)

Projects, projects, projects

Since my computer has been on the fritz the past week or so I've taken the time to do some projects that I've been meaning to get to.

Project #1- Platypus Doll

This was supposed to be an easy project for beginners, not so much. Good thing I had a friend helping me that knows more about sewing than I do!
He came out OK. Addie has absolutely no interest in him whatsoever.
Project #2 - Valentine's Day Decoration

This one I am pretty excited about. I changed it alittle bit to make it longer. Even though I am not good at hand stitching I think it came out pretty well. She says in the instructions that it is simple. It is really simple but took a lot longer than I had anticipated.

I am working on a few other things that I will post pictures of later!! Yea for crafts!!

Pay it forward

Here's how it works-the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive, at some point during the year, a handmade gift from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well-before you leave your comment here, write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going. Then come back, let me know you're going to play, and sit back and anticipate the arrival of your gift!

Remember that only the first 3 comments will receive a gift from me, so be quick!"

Scary Henry...

Don't mess with this 2 pounds of toughness.

I eventually had to turn the mirror around because I was afraid he was going to scratch it. He was pretty upset with the cat in the reflection. Sorry about the bad video quality, I took it on my phone.
