Trip to California

My younger sister Nicole had her first baby in July. Addie and I flew out there hoping to be there for the birth but she delivered early and we missed it by 2 days! We still had a really fun week of sun, family and swimming!

On both flights she was spoiled with in flight entertainment. She watched a movie for most of the flight.

Baby Mack!

I shared a bed with her for the week and it was not easy! She is a crazy sleeper! I do love the mask though.

Watching some Netflix and sippin' hot chocolate at Starbucks.

The new parents trying to figure out how to bathe a baby.

I did get a run or two in while we were there. It was a bit warm outside for me. The treadmill was better than being outside and that pool felt nice later!

Melanie and Dustin joined us for the weekend so all 4 of us were together!

We escaped one morning with Melanie, Kadence, Garrisyn and Ryker to the beach. The water was actually decent enough for even me to get in! We borrowed Nic's boogie board and had a lot of fun in the waves. I had to drag Addie away when every one was starting to get a sunburn!

I think she only skipped one day of swimming in the pool. One day was cut short when she got her very first bee sting while in the water! We picked up some pool rings while we were there to give her some good under water practice!

Daniel sent me this photo while I was gone and it made me smile. I think he was pretty proud of himself for keeping everything together at home while I was gone. He did a great job with the kids, getting Dia to soccer and holding down the fort!

On our last day there we stopped to have lunch at a fun little cafe. We had tea and little sandwhiches. It was Addie's kind of place for sure!

Finally the trip was over and it was time to head back home!

Diadora turns 4!!

This little lady turned 4 in July. She is so independent and strong willed. But she is growing up and starting to be really helpful and I know ONE day her and Opal will get a long better. Right?! I was really lame with pictures this year, not really sure what happened. She deserves her own post anyway. :)
We started her birthday with a pancake breakfast!

Present time! She was pretty excited about her new bike!

She isn't quite as big on parties as my other kids. We took her best friend Ivy with us to eat dinner at Red Robin and she was happy with that!

Love the faces these 2 make! They are cute together!

Soccer for Dia

This summer Dia tried soccer. We are hoping she learns to like it and will play! She doesn't like the in your face part and would often stand back and let the other kids play. She was good at drills and following the ball around but she would hand over the ball when ever someone got close to her!

I'm pretty sure she liked goofing off with the coaches more than actually playing!

Poor thing was always so hot! It was rough trying to run around in the summer heat!

At the end of the season they called up each player one by one and gave them a medal with their name and a ball. She was thrilled!

The rest of June 2016

These 2 are either best buddies or trying to kill each other. It drives me crazy!

Sometimes when they won't stop fighting I put them in this XL tee shirt until they calm down. It usually doesn't take them long to start laughing again.

Addie has been really in to sewing and crafting. She got this pillow making set for her birthday and was so excited to get started. She is currently in a sewing class that meets twice a month and is loving it!

Who doesn't love a little ballet and t-ball at the same time?

They made this creation so we could send the picture in to the LEGO magazine. Johnny really wants his photo to be featured in it at some point!

I'm not sure when this happened. I am thinking it was when Daniel was in charge. I'm pretty sure I would have made them change in to swim suits but they look pretty happy.

End of tee ball season trophy.

Again, I'm pretty sure this is from Daniel's phone. They are both pouting about something! They are just so fun. :)

I like to attend a home school convention every year to check out any new curriculum or toys. I took the kids with me during the day and they scored some fun free stuff. Also, I just like Dia's face in the picture below.

My nap time buddy. :)

We said good bye to Lilly and Frank in June. They were fun but no one paid any attention to them and I was tired of cleaning up the seeds from all over the floor!
