Thank you tax return...

for paying for Daniel's new toy.

My uncle was selling this and gave us a super great deal on it. Daniel is always asking if he can buy a truck because he is tired of always borrowing one. It was in a small accident last year when it snowed so it needs some repair, but otherwise looks and runs great! Have fun with it babe, now you can go get me a new washer and dryer. :)

Happy Birthday Daniel!

We had lots of plans for Daniel's birthday this year but with Addie not feeling well we had to change them a bit. He had Monday off but we spent the day tending to a sick (and very whiny) Addie and spent the afternoon at the doc. office. Tuesday was his actual birthday and everyone was well enough to go out to eat.
It's been our tradition since we moved here to eat at Red Robin for all of our birthdays. The birthday person gets a free burger and ice cream!

Happy Valentine's Day

First, this little guy is 3 months old today! I can't believe how fast time is going by. He is so much fun! Everyone can't believe how big he is getting. He is full of smiles (especially when Addie is around), has his 2 bottom teeth coming in and is pretty mellow. We love him and his chubby cheeks!
We decided to 'stay in' this V-day which was totally OK with me because I am always so tired. Saturday morning we went out to breakfast (one of my favorite things) as a family. Saturday night we rented a movie and just stayed home. Sunday morning we made (wheat free) chocolate chunk muffins, eggs and bacon, yum.

I've seen these adorable Valentine's Day bags from Pottery Barn Kids on a few people's blogs. My friend posted the tutorial on how to make your own so I decided to give it a try. Part way through I got stuck and had to get some help but I think it came out pretty cute! I was realistic with how much time I was going to have to make it so Johnny will have to wait until next year for his :) Addie was excited to open it up and see what we got her.

I remember always getting some small piece of jewelry from my mom so I thought I would carry that on for Addie. Inside her bag she found some chocolate, a necklace and matching earrings and a book. (The book was added because the bag was pretty empty without it.)

Seriously?!?

The past few days Johnny has been sleeping a lot during the day (which is nice right?) and is super cranky at night. He has to be held ALL the time, doesn't want to nurse and just screams. Last night I decided to check his gums because teething was the only thing I could think of. Sure enough, he already has a tooth poking through the gum! Isn't it a little bit early? Addie didn't get any teeth for awhile but I guess every kid is different. I think the other bottom one might be coming in too, it's kind of hard to look in there when h is screaming. I am hoping we don't have very many more days like this. I am exhausted!

Afternoon Activities

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have been trying to spend some one on one time with Addie everyday. One day she told me that she wanted to sew. When I asked her what she wanted to make she said a purse. That days activity was going through my fabric with her to pick out what she wanted. The next day we worked on cutting out the pieces and putting it together. We didn't get very far (it is pretty difficult to sew with a 2 year old) so that night I finished it and hung it on the chair for her to see in the morning. She loves it!! It was immediately filled with toys and has been carried all around ever since.

This past weekend we went out and bought some games that we thought she would be able to play. The board game we got will take some time for her to learn. She loves playing with all the pieces but doesn't quite get the rules. We also got a bowling set. I have seen much cuter sets but this was only $5 at Wal-Mart.

Setting up the pins...

...And knocking them down.

Of course I couldn't do a post without including our little man...

This video might be boring to most people. But as a parent you get excited about every little new thing that your baby does. I love when they start noticing the world around them and become more active. He gets so excited watching the lights on that thing. And Addie is such a big helper and loves him to pieces!!
