Afternoon Activities

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have been trying to spend some one on one time with Addie everyday. One day she told me that she wanted to sew. When I asked her what she wanted to make she said a purse. That days activity was going through my fabric with her to pick out what she wanted. The next day we worked on cutting out the pieces and putting it together. We didn't get very far (it is pretty difficult to sew with a 2 year old) so that night I finished it and hung it on the chair for her to see in the morning. She loves it!! It was immediately filled with toys and has been carried all around ever since.

This past weekend we went out and bought some games that we thought she would be able to play. The board game we got will take some time for her to learn. She loves playing with all the pieces but doesn't quite get the rules. We also got a bowling set. I have seen much cuter sets but this was only $5 at Wal-Mart.

Setting up the pins...

...And knocking them down.

Of course I couldn't do a post without including our little man...

This video might be boring to most people. But as a parent you get excited about every little new thing that your baby does. I love when they start noticing the world around them and become more active. He gets so excited watching the lights on that thing. And Addie is such a big helper and loves him to pieces!!

2 Months and Cookies

It has become very evident that Addie is a little annoyed that I spend so much time with Johnny. I am also in the process of taking a course to renew my flight instructor certificate online. So this week I am either holding Johnny or staring at the computer and she is desperate for attention. This afternoon I decided we needed something to do together so, while the baby was napping we made cookies. She was so excited to wear her apron! I wasn't sure if any of the chocolate chunks were going to be left in the cookies because she was eating them all out of the batter. They did turn out pretty yummy though!
