Old Stuff

Every time we move we try to clean out more junk. We are both holding on to a lot of old things from high school and college. The pile is getting smaller and smaller. One of the things we have a lot of are high school notes that we wrote to each other which are quite entertaining to read! Every thing was drama back then! We came across a few pictures while we were once again going through our boxes and I thought I would share. (click on the picture to make it bigger)

The top one was taken over Christmas break our freshman year of college. It was New Years Eve (Dec. 30, 2001) and Daniel had just had his wisdom teeth out a few days before. (That's why his face looks puffy)

The middle one was just a couple of weeks before he left on his mission, summer of 2002.

And the bottom was the night we got engaged, August 2004. Oh I miss my long hair (sometimes)!

A is for Addie's Airplane

One of the things on our summer to-do list was to take Addie for her second flight. We took her last September and she cried pretty much the whole time. It was the wrong time of day and we had her strapped in the car seat so she was freaking out. This time we let her sit in her own seat (with her seat belt on) until we took off then Daniel held her on his lap so that she could see out. She loved it! We only went up for about 20 minutes so it was short. Before we went to the airport Addie and I were wearing our headsets around the house to practice having it on her head. I explained that the airplane was very loud and that she needed to wear it. During the flight she took it off for a second and started whining because it was loud and put it right back on. I was so proud of her for wearing it! I could even hear her talking into the microphone. For the rest of the night she was pretty wound up and just kept saying "Addie airplane. Airplane loud. Mommy airplane."

She is learning to pose and smile while saying cheese for pictures. Again, so happy.

I Love the Fair!

I love everything about the fair. The smell of yummy food, the lights, noise, people, chaos. It's very nostalgic for me. Reminds me of back to school time/fall in Vegas. We live pretty close to the fairgrounds. Close enough to walk. I don't think a lady 30 weeks pregnant should walk the mile there, walk for 2 hours around the fair grounds then walk another mile home though. I was dying by the time we reached our house! We had a great time though. Addie must take after me...she had a blast looking at all of the lights and rides.

She does love drumming on things like her dad. This display was set up with little sticks that you could use to bang on all of the parts. She probably would have stayed here forever but Daniel took the sticks away after about 5 minutes so that we could move on.

Most of the rides height requirement is 36 inches. She is about 33-34. Just barely too short but we did find one ride where they just had to be at least 2 years old. She loved being in the boat! She was dancing and rocking it to the music that was playing.

I thought she would freak out around the little goats but she was petting them and saying "soft". Luckily none of them tried to eat her clothes or anything.

Our happy little girl.

Next Adventure

At the end of the month we are moving again! I hate moving but this time it is just across the street. We worked out a deal with the guy in charge of this estate. He is giving us cheap rent and we (mostly Daniel) are providing the labor to fix it up. It's been on the market for awhile and we are hoping it stays that way! By the time we get it painted, cleaned and all the carpet ripped out it is going to be an adorable house. Built in 1928 it has so much charm!

Lake Chelan

This past weekend was our annual trip to Chelan with Daniel's company. The hotel is right on the lake and has a nice pool for us to play in. Friday morning Addie woke up with a fever of 103.6 so we were not sure if we were going to go. I am glad we did, by that night her fever was down and she had a blast.

End of Summer Activities

One of the perks of Daniel's job is that he is always getting tickets to go to games, Sounders, Mariners and this week the Tacoma Rainiers. Addie and I got to go to this one, she had a blast! The whole drive there she kept saying "want to watch baseball".

Over the weekend we went to a picnic with our midwife and her clients. Although we didn't really socialize a lot, we got to eat yummy food and took a walk around the Point Defiance Park. Anytime Addie is at a park she is happy, while we were eating all she wanted to do was go play on the play structure.
She kept telling us (over and over) that she wanted to go to the park (meaning the play thing). I think she may have had too much sugar because she was a bit wound up.

These 2 videos were on the way home. Again I think the sugar (and fatigue) were making her silly. The first one is of her serenading us with a song and I will translate the second one. She is saying a kitty cat says meow, then she is saying Henry says meow in the car. Which is true but I have no idea why she was saying it then.

#12- Crayon Rolls

It doesn't seem like it was 2 weeks ago that I posted something. Where is the time going?!?!? I have been quite busy sewing, scrapbooking and working on vinyl stuff. I love how the creative juices flow when I am pregnant! We have been enjoying some end of summer activities as well, pictures to come. So here are my crayon rolls. I made 2 so that we can keep one downstairs and the other upstairs at her little table. I found the tutorial here. I really could make just about everything on this blog if I had endless time and money! I plan on giving these to her for Christmas. I am trying to start early and have Christmas done by Thanksgiving. I picked up one of these at a consignment shop near by:

The only problem with starting to get gifts early is that I really want to give them to her now! 4 more months...
