Memorial Day

Daniel's parents were in town for the holiday weekend. We headed down to Olympia for the day. In the morning the guys went golfing while we took the kids to the children's museum. I tried to get some good pictures of Addie and her cousin who is 3 months older than her. They had such a good time!

In the afternoon, the ladies got away and got pedicures. I had never gone somewhere for one before. We had a blast. The ladies that worked there were hilarious! Addie wanted to get her toes in the picture too I guess. :)

One of the projects I had on my list for Addie's birthday was this dress. I saw it on one of my friends blogs and thought I would be adventurous and try it. Thank goodness I had help this weekend! I would have never been able to figure it out. It really wasn't too hard but I had never used a pattern for clothes before. I have been wanting to learn how to make button holes so this was perfect. I think she will wear this dress for our upcoming pictures and for her party. My sister in law also helped me make another diaper/wipe holder because I lost mine in Ikea.

This video might be boring, but I think it's cute. When we got to Olympia in the morning she stood on the scooter and had NO idea what to do. Her cousin got on and showed her how to do it and a little while later I got this video. I know she is barely moving, but she learned so fast!

How can I stay mad?

This morning was awful! I slept in a little bit and Addie woke up early so I did not have time to shower and get ready before she woke up. If I don't get my 'quiet' time in the morning I am half as patient as usual. Because she woke up early she was grumpier than usual. We managed to make it out the door to the grocery store where she whined the whole time. She threw a fit when her cookie was gone and kept trying to climb out of the cart. On the way home she smashed her crackers into tiny pieces and crumbs after I specifically asked her about 10 times to keep the crackers IN the bowl. When we got home she went straight to time out (for dumping out the crackers) where I had to stand there for the 2 minutes because she wouldn't stay. While I was trying to get lunch started I saw her starting to pull things out of one of the grocery bags I had placed on the floor. I was just about to ask her to put them back and leave it alone when I realized what she was doing. She was trying to help me put the food away! She pulled a box of cereal out of the bag, opened the cereal cabinet, put the box in and closed the door. She then pulled out cans of soup, a couple boxes and some soy sauce and placed them one by one on the counter, which she has to stand on her tip toes and stretch up to reach. It's moments like this when I feel guilty for getting upset with her or yelling at her moments before. There have been many times recently when she will be the biggest pill and minutes later she is being so cute and funny that I can't help but laugh. How can you stay upset with someone so cute?

On a different note, this is my 100th post!! Yea for blogging!! I had intended to blog about something a little more exciting, like our Memorial Day weekend fun but I will get to that when I have more energy.

Soaking up the sun!

Going to the zoo is one of the things on our Summer 'to-do' list. Since it was so nice yesterday we decided to take advantage and cross one thing off the list. Addie hasn't been to the zoo and I think she enjoyed it. The fish were her favorite part. She also loved the free carousal ride. She cried when we had to get off. The last picture is of her newest injury. It really didn't end up being as bad as I thought it was going to be. While we were at the zoo we were getting tired of buckling/unbuckling her in the stroller so that she could get in and out. I ALWAYS make sure she is buckled because I fear she will fall out. Well...we decided not to buckle her ONE time and she tried to get out. Daniel was pushing the stroller and he saw her stand up and fall face first out! He tried to catch her but it was too late, we heard the thump and I saw her roll over. Of course she was hysteric and everyone was looking at her. One lady walked by and said "oh, did daddy let go of the stroller?" What?!? Why would Daniel injure his own child? I am just glad she landed on her forehead and not right on her face/nose.

We went to our first appointment with our wonderful midwife this afternoon. She was happy to see Addie since she was there when I had her almost 2 years ago. I am now 11 weeks pregnant and I think I am definitely bigger this time than I was with Addie! Everything went fine at our appointment. Dawn (midwife) was even able to find the baby's heart beat after a couple minutes of searching. Eventhough I don't think Addie knows what is going on, she kept smiling at me when we were listening to the baby. It makes it so much more real to actually hear it! I keep teasing Daniel and saying that I think it will be a girl (he REALLY wants a boy). I think I am more excited to see what it is this time than I was last time. I look really tired in this picture but I wasn't really. Just not the best picture.
