Scholtz Farm Field Trip

Today Johnny's preschool went on a field trip to one of the many nearby pumpkin patches. We had never been to this particular one so it was fun! Addie and Diadora came along and we all got out in the sun for the day!

Most of Johnny's class.

They took a tour around the whole place. One of the stops was to talk about the different kinds of pumpkins and gourds.

Next was the green house. The tour guide showed how even in the winter they can grow lots of different things and they all got to feel some corn. There were also animals to see and one stop was all about the tools people used to use to do chores like making butter and washing clothes!

These 2 walked around almost the whole time holding hands. I think it is so sweet that he wants to be around his big sister!

Snow White and my little dwarfs!

At the end they all got to pick out a small pumpkin to take home. He picked his out right away and we put it in the car so I wouldn't have to carry it around. When he saw that the one Addie had picked was bigger than his he insisted on putting his back and getting a bigger one! It's always a competition!

There was a short corn maze to walk through. Johnny and Brody were picking which paths to take. Of course Addie was right there acting very motherly as usual. :)

I think one of the best parts for the kids was a huge pile of straw they could play in! They had toys and cars to play with and ride on. Eventually they discovered that they could ride the cars down the hill!

When I finally let Dia out of the carrier she patiently waited for her turn to sit in the little red car.

She wasn't too happy when Cohen tried to join her and push her out! Good thing he is cute.

Fall Family Photos

Two photographers in the area recently ran specials on sessions with them so I bought one from each! I am so happy our friend Brie was able to take photos of our family again! (She did the last ones in front of our house!) The other lady is doing my maternity photos so we will have to wait until December for those!

We did a one year photo shoot for both Addie and Johnny but this summer was so busy we didn't get around to doing Dia's until now. She is now 15 months. Oh well, close enough right?!

For these pictures we headed down by our little library. I love the downtown area. While we were taking the pictures, Dia and Johnny were being super uncooperative. After we were done I was so sad that we hadn't spent a little more money and got Johnny a nicer looking shirt. I was sure there wouldn't be that many good shots. But Brie is so good that we ended up with quite a few good ones!

Thanks Brie!

First Day of School

This year we have decided to home school Addie. There are many reasons why we feel it is best for our family and so far we are loving it! I know this may be a silly reason to some people, but the school schedule was so stressful for me and we are enjoying our freedom to do what we want during the day! I especially like the fact that most days we are still eating breakfast in pajamas at 9:30! I stuck with tradition and took the kids pictures on our official first day. (Johnny is attending preschool at the same school that Addie went to but works with us in the mornings.)

Ben and Bethany's Wedding

The weekend after my sister's wedding, Daniel's brother Ben got married here in Washington. We were so glad they chose to have the wedding here so that we could all attend! They kept it pretty simple, ring ceremony at the chapel, pictures in a park then a big dinner with everyone instead of a reception. Then we went back to their house for cake!

Waiting for it to start...

The boys before the ceremony.

I love that her son walked her in!

Sisters-in-law. Jocelyn, Bethany and me.

Bethany with Daniel and his brothers!

They both have kids from previous marriages so now they have 5. One big instant family!

Daniel's parents came up from Vegas and his brother from Utah. As well as her parents. Group shot!

Mel and Jake's Wedding

This post continues our trip to Vegas (in July!). Sigh. I am determined to catch up!

My sister got married at the chapel in Planet Hollywood and the reception was at a restaurant there. Kind of nice that it was all indoor and we didn't have to do too much walking!

She was so excited about her outfit, especially the hat!

Melanie with my kiddos!

I got to be the Maid of Honor. :)

Bridal party. Sorry Nic, I posted the one with your eyes closed.

All of us siblings are now married!
