Wednesday morning we got up and headed out to Hogle Zoo. I must say going anywhere with a big group is quite a production. I think we stayed together as 1 group for about 10 minutes before people started breaking off in to smaller groups. Some of the kids (including mine) have to keep moving or they go nuts.
Addie was most looking forward to seeing the giraffes. The zoo by our house does not have any so she is always asking to see them! It was cool we could get kind of close.
The carousel. One of Addie's favorite things. Johnny looks like he isn't so sure but he really did like it!
There were a few of these around the zoo. Some moved, made noise and even squirted water. Addie was NOT a fan. Like, hysterical on the verge of a major panic attack every time we had to walk by one. People were looking at her very concerned. Let's just say we won't be going to Thanksgiving Points dinosaur museum anytime soon.
This elephant was actually moving (most of the animals with the exception of some of the monkeys, only stood still while we were looking at them). The kids got to watch him eat, then poop. It was great.
After the zoo we went back to the cabin. While some people napped, some of us did a craft. Everyday we were there one of the daughter/daughters in law were in charge of a craft. The first day Amy helped the kids make bags with fabric markers complete with a notebook and coloring book to go inside.
Every night a different family was in charge of dinner and clean up. Kind of nice not to have to cook for a couple of nights!
I tried multiple times to get a picture of these 3. They are the youngest grand kids and do not sit still! Johnny D, Lucy and Amanda
I really want a fire pit at home so that we can have s'mores all the time, one of my favorite treats! For now I make them in the microwave. :/
She definitely takes after me. Daniel hates marshmallows.
