Butterflies and Bike Riding

We got a butterfly kit from a bug museum awhile back. It seemed like it took forever for them to change to butterflies! I guess these things take time though right?  We started out with 6 caterpillars. One never changed to a chrysalis, one started to then died halfway through. So we ended up with 4 butterflies! We decided to let them go in the yard so they wouldn't die in the enclosure. :)

One of Addie's goals for the summer was to learn how to ride her bike with no training wheels. Daniel took them off one Saturday morning, by the after noon she was riding by herself! He said he had to hold on to her for the first few minutes then she was fine! A few days later we got out a bigger bike that someone had given us awhile ago and now she is a champ on that too! She cruises around on the porch so fast. I worry that she is going to take a corner too fast and crash! There have been a few falls and scrapes, but overall she is doing so great! I think this is the first accomplishment of her short life that she is really, truly proud of. Her face literally beams when she talks about how she can ride her bike. She even wrote about it in her weekend news at school. Usually she writes maybe 1 sentence (sometimes just a few words!) but this time she took up the whole page writing about it! Makes me happy to see her so proud!

This video is super short of her on the day (or maybe the day after?) she took the training wheels off. I really should get a video of her now, 3 weeks later!
