November wrap up

November seemed like it flew by. It's crazy how much faster is goes when you are older!

Sunday selfie with my little girls.

I have been growing my hair out. Not that I was trying to, it just hasn't bothered me much (until recently!) so I let it grow. It needed some color so I lightened it! I decided if I could have 2 people help me during the day it would be 1. a cook  2. someone to do my hair for me!

This was not a nice way to start the holidays! The day before Thanksgiving the kids and I were at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. I parked in the parking garage right on the main floor level not far from the entrance. When I came out I couldn't open my door. I kept pushing the key fob then went to try the key and noticed that the lock was pushed in! I was so annoyed!! Luckily they didn't do any other damage to the car and they didn't actually break in!

We stuck with tradition of going before Thanksgiving to see Santa. Last year we went to a different Santa because I was annoyed that our favorite one had moved to the fair grounds. This year we decided we should try it and see the new place. It was actually really nice! You have to reserve your time so they know you are coming and you don't have to wait in line. We waited for about 5 minutes for the family in front of us to finish up. I am really pleased with how the pictures came out. No one was crying! The picture above is the one we ended up buying from them.

These next pictures Daniel took on his phone. Opal was not sure she wanted to get too close at first. :)

Johnny has a really hard time with the flash on cameras. The picture on the left was the very first one Daniel took, before the photographer took any. Notice his eyes are open and he is sitting up straight. The one on the right is after the first flash. He is squinting and trying really hard to keep his eyes open! Poor kid.

After we were done taking pictures we walked around and looked at all the fun things they had for kids to do! There were several little rooms with books to read, desks with paper to write to Santa, little houses to play in and games! My only complaint was that it was freezing inside!

Our Thanksgiving was relaxing. We slept in, worked out and hung around the house until it was time to go eat at our favorite buffet! I know people think we are crazy for going out on Thanksgiving. We even had a couple people offer to have us over, but really we like to go out. It's fun and there is always tons of food! I like to spend the day relaxing. :)

We didn't get to our Thanksgiving history lesson earlier in the week so we sat down and did it on Thanksgiving. Totally ok.

The last 2 years I have dropped Daniel off at the casino that the buffet is in. I take the kids for a short drive (up to the Redbox a few miles away!) then we hang out in the car until he tells me he is getting close to the front of the line. It would be way to crazy to stand in line with all 4 of them! So thankful for the dvd player in the car!

Full, happy people.

On Black Friday I like to go out and people watch in the afternoon. I am not a crazy early morning shopper (although it is on my bucket list of things to do once!). For dinner I like to make a big meal. Not quite a Thanksgiving meal, we usually have chicken, but we make it fun!

The sparkling cider was a big hit this year. Dia wanted every last drop!

Must have had another hard day, fell asleep in the chair again!

This is how we do Saturdays, divide and conquer! This is why you need an even number of kids!

My mom bought us a small couch for the playroom for Christmas and the kids went to help me get it. Opal wasn't too impressed and took a nap in the cart. The other kids were actually helpful when it came to loading the box on to the cart then pushing it to the register. A nice lady walking by in the parking lot offered to help me load it in the car otherwise I'm not sure how I would have gotten it in there!

Love story time at night. Not sure why Addie is reading the dictionary!
