August 2014

Still catching up...

This poor kid. You would think by the fourth child I would know to keep a change of clothes in the diaper bag! She had a big blow out on our way to Target. I didn't feel like turning around and going all the way back home after I had gotten everyone out of the house! So she shopped in just her diaper!

Aren't they so cute when they are asleep?!

A friend of ours thought we needed some help with our crazy, over grown yard so he gathered some people from the ward and made it a service project! At first we kind of felt like a charity case, but we went with it because honestly, our yard needed A TON of work and we just weren't getting around to doing any of it! I took the picture above right before everyone started working.

We took out the huge bush right in front of the door by hooking a strap to it and pulling it with a truck!

That's a lot of branches...

We had some of the youth come and even some families came with their kiddos!

Daniel trying to smash the branches down so they fit in the trailer!

And here is the after picture! So so so much better. You can actually see the house now! (And you can't even tell that it was a duplex!)

I managed to save some flowers before they were all cut down!
***

Crazy how we are a family that eats half a loaf of bread in 1 meal!
***

Daniel finally having time to put the crown molding in the living room!

It looked so good! (Not sure why the walls look that color in this picture!).

In case anyone is wondering, this is what happens to your forehead when you place a suction cup arrow on it then try to pull it off!

Watching Addie at her ice skating lesson.

This kid always tries to sneak LEGO with us where ever we go! At least they keep him entertained (this was also at ice skating lessons!).

At the end of her second session, she moved up another level! Maybe we will do more lessons this summer!

It's so fun when they start rolling. When they are not in  the same spot you put them in when you left the room. And mostly when they get themselves stuck under furniture and start screaming!
***

This is too sweet not to sneak a picture of. My baby girl so reverent during a prayer. :)
***

Another jog with my running partner!
***

They kept saying "Dia sandwich!" Then they would all laugh hysterically!

I think these 2 spent more time warming up in the sun all summer than they actually spent IN the pool!
***

The park downtown got a new playground. When I took the kids for the first time I was a bit nervous. This thing is huge! The 2 twisty slides are way up high and there is not much for little kids to do. We were a little bummed because this was one of their favorite parks!
***

And finally, at the end of August we listed out home for sale! My heart sank a little bit when I opened the blinds in the morning and there was the For Sale sign. I love that house. It was with a lot of discussion, budgeting, more discussion, thinking and prayer that we decided selling was our best option. I am still a little sad about it and I really miss our big yard but I hope the new owners take care of it and finish all of the projects that we never got to!
