End of school

During the 2013-2014 School year, Addie went to music class at the elementary school. Music was one part of kindergarten that she really liked. I called the school in September and asked if she could join one of the first grade classes. The office lady had to look in to it because no one had ever asked that before! She called me back and said it would work out. So twice a week for 30 minutes Addie went with a first grade class to music. She knew some of the kids from her kindergarten class and she really liked it. Maybe I already wrote all of this in a post about the assembly they did, I don't remember!

Anyway, at the end of the year the teacher for the first grade class, Mrs. Vessey (who loved Addie!) invited her to join their class for field day! It was so much fun! The kids and I stayed for a little bit after we dropped her off in the morning because they did a 'flash mob' to the song 'Happy'. They danced and did a little performance. Then they all ran off and started on their field day activities!

We did get to come back at lunch time and eat with her! As you can tell by their faces, the sun is a little bright when it decides to shine!

After lunch, all of the other kids had to go back to class and finish the school day. (I seem to remember field day always being a half day?!). Addie got to come home with us and enjoy the sunny afternoon. :)

Addie had a rough year, but we were still figuring everything out and we did it!

Johnny also finished his first year of preschool. We LOVE his teacher, Mrs. Papen. He had such a good time, even though he often told me that it was boring. He always came home with papers of his creations that they must have given him to keep him busy!

The end of the school year also meant the end of our coffee shop dates with Katy and Cohen. Now I need to find another excuse to go get Italian sodas once a week!
