Out on the Lake

Some friends of ours kept their boat under our carport all winter. Our agreement was that we would get to go out on the boat in the summer in exchange. Since our summer was so crazy busy, Daniel took a day off from work so that we could go enjoy the sun! It was a perfect day for boating! It was even warm enough for me to get in the water too! We went to a lake in Tacoma, American Lake. I didn't even know this lake existed. I don't think a lot of people do because it was pretty empty! Our friend let Daniel take the boat without him going! I was a bit nervous to be going without the someone who actually owns a boat but I tried to trust that Daniel knew what he was doing. :)

Opal enjoyed the ride for the most part.

Such a pretty view! It really was such a nice day!

Johnny loved jumping off the boat in to the water! It took Addie a little bit longer to get the nerve to jump but once she did they had a blast!

Poor guy. We didn't have a non pink left vest that fit him. :/

This picture cracks me up. Johnny is saying, Come on mom. Just jump in!

Diadora was not a fan of the boat. It was loud and she didn't like the wind blowing in her face. She spent most of the time on one of our laps or underneath out of the sun. I did manage to drag her in the water for a brief minute before she was clawing at me trying to get back out.

We were just thinking about calling our friend and asking if he wouldn't mind giving us another half hour before coming to pick us up when it all fell apart! Johnny was out of the water getting ready to jump in when he stepped on a bee that was sitting on the platform! Seriously?! A bee. On the boat. In the middle of the lake. So Johnny was screaming and Dia told us she had a poopy diaper. A poopy, wet, swim diaper. And Opal decided she had had enough and was also getting fussy. Daniel and I looked at each other and laughed. Why does it always have to end like that?! Our short boating trip motivated us even more to hurry up and get out of debt so that we can buy a boat of our own one day!
